Get the Skills You Need to Succeed
On Your First and Every Project to
Consistently Deliver On-Time!

Industry research shows 80% of eLearning projects FAIL.
Why? Because most project managers aren’t prepared.
Don’t become a statistic!

It can be a difficult situation when your boss expects you to deliver your first eLearning project and you feel like you can’t say NO. But behind your weak smile, you are thinking, “I don’t have a training development background. How am I going to get this completed and still have time to get my REAL job done?” Can you relate?

On the positive side:  You are excited about getting a new assignment that will have a great impact on your company and your career.

But then you get that sinking feeling: You have NEVER put together a real training program and you are not even that good at developing a simple slide deck..  Houston, we have a problem!

Take a Look at the Titles of Recent eLearning Clients.
Notice Something Interesting?

• National Sales Manager                  • Federal Agency Technical Manager
• Engineering Project Manager         • Environmental Engineer Consultant
• Airport Environmental Director       • Mortgage Servicing Manager
• Health Care Sales Manager             • Property & Casualty Manager
• Risk Assessment Manager               • Subsea Engineering Manager

What is missing?  That’s right, NONE of them was a training professional, but each one was assigned to deliver a business critical  eLearning project. This is a very typical situation with our clients.  We successfully helped each one of them to deliver high-quality training On-Time to meet the specific project needs, while educating them in the process.

Let’s face it… eLearning projects are complex, messy, and it’s almost impossible to get a project completed on-time or on-budget. There are just too many things that need to happen concurrently or get completed BEFORE proceeding.

If you never managed an eLearning project, its simple… you don’t know what you don’t know.  And that lack of knowledge can come back to bite you later in so many ways.

For clarification… I am NOT TALKING about shooting a little 15-minute animated video that teaches one little simple concept.  I am talking about developing a real engaging TRAINING PROGRAM that covers multiple days of intense instruction for a required new employee onboarding program, product safety certification or a special professional development program. We are talking about a REAL program with lots of audiences (perhaps even multi-languages), many streams of data, knowledge checks, case studies, and a final quiz with certificate.

If this is your first project, do you even know what to do or where to get started?  If you create eLearning occasionally, it’s EASY TO FORGET EVERYTHING THAT IS NEEDED to be addressed to make it work.

This reminds me of how I recently described the complexity of managing eLearning.
“Delivering an eLearning project is like baking a cake. Unless you follow the recipe, it’s not going to look like, taste like or even be a cake when you get done. If you don’t know there is a recipe, where do you start?”

So if you have found yourself suddenly in charge delivering of an eLearning program and you are clueless and struggling, take a deep breath and relax.  We have you covered with the Design2Train Method Quick Start program from Day-1.

The back story…
Mike is a product manager, hired by a safety company to manage products and occasionally manage the development of  classroom product training. We had previously created some classroom training for him. When Mike called, I was kind of shocked.

After repeatedly saying, he wished he had contacted us up front, he told me why he was so upset. A few months back, his boss has assigned him to manage an 8-hour eLearning program. He thought since he had worked on classroom training, it couldn’t be THAT different so he decided to just “wing it”. Oops, that was his first mistake, the project grew into a PAINFUL MONSTER PROJECT.

Mike said it started with lack of senior management support and in the midst there was a power struggle with a manager from a different division who tried to take over the project. But the WORST PART was having to keep re-doing the content over and over. It got expensive especially when AFTER videos had been produced and then went through hours of expensive re-editing. The project was entirely out of scope and the final product did not even meet the original instructional intent. Mike was totally frustrated.

Of course the project was delivered LATE, but even worse, it ended up costing over 3X OVER the original bid.  This whacky out of control project totally blew Mike’s training budget for the entire year. And worst of all… Mike had to ask his boss for an extra $75K to pay the final invoice.  His boss was NOT happy. Mike was concerned the project being a BAD strike against him in his upcoming review and even worse, he started worrying, what if this lame project actually cost him his career?  Can you relate?

Mike’s story hit me like a ton of bricks.
He was a real-life example of why
80% of eLearning projects FAIL.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.
You can be a success even on your 1st project if you follow a proven process

It was clear to me, I needed to formalize and teach our proven eLearning project management process to a whole new crop of project mangers BEFORE their project started.

My personal challenge took me over two years to perfect the process into a logical 9-step process.  I sought feedback from eLearning eperts and I knew I was on the right path when they repeatedly said, they wished they had this process to work with clients.  The Design2Train Method (D2TM) is now a reality for new project managers.

Following this process you can gain knowledge, confidence and skills to lead (even your first) an eLearning project for On-Time launch.  And… that’s the back story of  why the Design2Train Method was created.
